Vehicle-Mounted Drone Docks Change Field Readiness

DJI Dock 3 introduced vehicle-mounted deployment options for enterprise drones. Mobile teams need to plan both the dock and separate transport of tools, batteries and spares.

DJI launched Dock 3 in February 2025 and highlighted support for vehicle-mounted operation with Matrice 4D and 4TD aircraft. The announcement focuses on remote operations for inspection, public safety and emergency response. It does not specify a CASEROVA transport product.

The dock is only part of the mobile kit

A field team also moves controllers, batteries, chargers, maintenance tools and replacement components. Packing these separately from a mounted dock can make checks and handover more predictable. The transport layout should reflect how the team services the aircraft between missions.

  • Map all equipment that travels with the vehicle, including spares.
  • Keep battery handling procedures aligned with applicable carrier and operator rules.
  • Confirm the real mounting, vibration and weather environment before choosing storage.

This is a CASEROVA interpretation of the equipment workflow. The cover is a generic illustration and does not depict a DJI product or partnership.
