Moisture Control Belongs in the Case Brief
Pelican’s 2026 collaboration with DRYOUT focuses on moisture-management inserts. It is a reminder that a closed case may need an internal humidity plan.
Pelican announced a partnership with DRYOUT in January 2026 for reusable moisture-management insert panels in selected case configurations. The company positions the accessory for protecting stored equipment. The announcement does not mean every closed case has the same humidity behaviour.
Protection includes the environment inside
Equipment can enter a case damp or warm, then cool in storage. The interior plan should account for the item’s sensitivity, the expected storage period and maintenance practices. A gasket and a moisture-control insert solve different problems and should be evaluated separately.
- Define acceptable humidity for the actual equipment.
- Set a schedule for inspection or replacement of any insert.
- Avoid treating an accessory as proof of waterproofing or climate control.
